Batt's Bar

The main bar here at Rathmullan House, derives its name from the family that occupied the house for over 100 years. The Batt family are still fondly remembered by many here in Rathmullan and their portraits can be seen adorning the walls around the house.

In winter the fire will be roaring from early morning in Batts Bar while in the summer, the window tables offer the perfect view of the glistening waters of Lough Swilly.

Batt's Bar is open for residents and non-residents for tea, coffee, drinks and light snacks from 12 – 4.30 on a daily basis.

Lunch is served in the lounges from 1-2.30 with both residents and non-residents welcome to join us. You can expect to find popular dishes such as seafood chowder, sirloin steak and freshly caught local seafood on our lunch menu.

If you are joining us for dinner in the Cook & Gardener restaurant, pre-dinner drinks will be served in Batt's Bar before taking your seat in the dining room. Keep an eye out for our Gin cocktail menu if you are feeling adventurous before dinner.

By late evening expect to find satisfied diners perched in front of the fire enjoying post dinner coffee and petit fours.

With certain members of the Batt family known to be staunch tee totallers, try not to let the disapproving looks from their portraits spoil your post dinner malt whiskey. Batt's Bar is the hub of relaxation here in Rathmullan House and we love to see our guests drifting off momentarily before deciding it might be time for bed!
