Set in tranquil wooded grounds overlooking Lough Swilly and at the beginning of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way coastline, our setting is idyllic, but it is our welcome that sets us apart.
With the second generation of the Wheeler family now looking after the 4 star hotel, the family feel that our regular visitors know so well has remained. Seamus the donkey is no longer around to carry guests’ luggage from Rathmullan pier, but our staff are always more than happy to help where they can. While the hotel has retained its classic features and traditional elements, our bedrooms have all of the modern touches that our discerning guests would expect.
Good food with a relaxed personal service are the foundations on which the longevity of Rathmullan House has been built. Our Cook & Gardener restaurant is renowned for its award winning food, locally sourced and expertly cooked, with many ingredients coming the short distance from our Walled Garden.
The Tap Room which opened in 2014 has already been recognised by the McKennas Guide as one of the top 100 places to eat in Ireland. Serving stone baked pizza and local craft beer is not what you might expect to find in a classic country house. Still in its infancy, it appears that this ambitious marriage of styles is exactly what our guests and locals are looking for.
